#HeroinesHelp: The Beagle Freedom Project

In a perfect world, animal testing wouldn’t exist and Cruelty-Free products would be the norm. Unfortunately, we are still fighting for that ideal and the Beagle Freedom Project is too. That’s why heroine.nyc is proud to work with them by donating a portion of the proceeds from each bottle of polish sold!

Today there are still hundreds of labs that test products on defenseless animals and 96% of dogs used for testing are beagles. What the Beagle Freedom Project does is rescue animals that can "no longer be tested on" and place them in adoptive homes where they can live out the rest of their lives comfortably. The BFP will rescue any animal from laboratories that they are willing to release and to date, they have rescued all breeds of dogs, cats, goats, horses, pigs, rats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and even fish.

The BFP is advancing legislation to mandate animal release, which will guarantee their freedom and attract positive press attention to this hidden, problematic reality. The BFP made history passing this bill into law in California, Minnesota, Connecticut, Nevada, and New York and it is currently pending in Illinois and Maryland. They also have rescue opportunities on the horizon from labs across the U.S., the UK, Europe, Korea, and even Australia. Each survivor is a living reminder that animals in labs are not abstract.

We strongly support the Beagle Freedom Project and all that they are doing to fight for animals and alternative research methods. Since July 2017, heroine.nyc has been able to donate $350! We thank you for not only supporting us, but for supporting them! And if you’re interested in learning more about how to help the Beagle Freedom Project, click here.
