Animal Love

We at heroine.nyc have decided that by doing what we love, which is making great products together with our customers, we also want to support causes that need our help.
Heroine.nyc is a cruelty-free brand, which means we do not test our products or any of their ingredients on animals. We have been certified by PETA as well as The Leaping Bunny as a cruelty-free and vegan company, which we are very proud of!

However, animal testing is still done in the U.S., there is no law completely banning it yet. There is the Research Animal Retirement Act though, requiring cats and dogs used for research by higher education institutions be offered for adoption through private placement or shelter organizations.

The Beagle Freedom Project (BFP) has dedicated itself to reaching out to labs all across the country that test on animals to rescue the animals after they 'retire'. Their mission is to give all animals life outside of laboratories and inspire public discourse about the practice of vivisection through rescue efforts and public policy.

This means that the animals in the labs are able to go into loving homes and experience a life outside of the cage. We, like the BFP, believe that even though their life after the lab might be short (some animals are only rescued after years of captivity), they still deserve a life, instead of euthanasia.

The BFP not only rescues beagles (beagles are favorable lab animals because they are small, docile and trusting) but cats, goats, horses, pigs, rats, rabbits, ferrets, guinea pigs, and even fish from labs!

The BFP’s work inspires groundbreaking legislation, supports advancements in modern medicine and creates commitments to cruelty-free living. You can learn more about the Beagle Freedom Project at www.beaglefreedomproject.org as well as their facebook page and Instagram Account.

Pink October

In addition to our monthly donation to the BFP, every October we raise money and awareness for breast cancer fighters and survivors. Since our launch, we do something special every October and donate 100% of the proceeds of all our pink polishes sold during that month. For the past years we have been donating the proceeds to the NBCF. They are an amazing non-profit organization that provides information, spreads awareness and collects donations to help support women fight this common disease.

So keep your eyes peeled to help us donate and pick up a pink polish when October rolls around! Check out our past pink October campaigns to get a taste of what's to come next time!

Here are a few A’s to some Q’s about #HeroinesHelp

HOW DO I HELP DONATE?

With every purchase you make with heroine.nyc, we will keep a part of the net profits aside, collect and then donate them to the BFP at the end of each month. That way all you need to think about is which amazing heroine.nyc product you want to buy and we take care of all the rest!
Every October, check out our Instagram, facebook or website to see which polishes you can buy to help donate to an organization that supports breast cancer fighters and survivors.

HOW DO I KNOW HEROINE.NYC WILL DONATE THE MONEY?

We will be posting updates on our blog and on Instagram about what was done with the donations that the organizations have received, so you can be sure that they actually made it to their designated destination!
You can check out blog posts we've published regarding the BFP as well as other charitable collaborations we have done here.

CAN I TELL YOU ABOUT ANOTHER PROJECT THAT I THINK NEEDS SUPPORT?

Of course! If you know about a great project that needs some support to do their amazing work, please contact us at hello@heroine.nyc and we will be sure to check it out!
